Vennesla Tidende saw the day of light on Wednesday August 9. 1989. Ten years later the newspaper can look back upon eventful years. For "venndøler", the local-newspaper has been a source of information most of them probably would not be without.

The founder of the newspaper was Jan Kåre Egebakken. For almost a year he ran the newspaper on his own. But in 1992 he began hiring employees, and today the staff contains of nine employees. He took the position as editor. That is strong! Not bad for a previous paperboy.

Egebakken made an attempt to make the newspaper more up-to-date by publicing twice a week. The idea was tested for two months, from September 1999. If this was a financial good move remains to be seen.
