Opening :
 
  Støleheia refuse dump was finished 17.04.1996. The construction took then over as regional refuse dump for the membershipmunicipalities in RKR, Kristiansand, Sogndalen, Søgne and Vennesla. The construction costed 140 million crones.

It consist both of a sorting plant for garbage, a recieveplace for special garbage, a recieceplace for animalcarcase etc.

After more than three years operation is the composting construction not warling as it should. The construction is American and costed 32 million crones.

The problems at Støleheia leaded last year to that the expenses become 60 % higher than the budget. Since the opening in 1996 is it used five million crones on consultfavours.
    

Direct reasons :
 
  Direct reasons for the environmentproblems is among others that the new construction do not yet function as planned. Another direct cause is that the effect of the purity seems low.
 
  Status :
 
  The conditions at Støleheia are characterized by smelling problems. Many gulls have also been a problem on this garbage heap.
 
  Influence :
 
  The gulls are often flying from drinkingwaters, which by this can be polluted.

Støleheia garbage heap is situated very high up in the terrain and therefore polluted water is trickling from this area.
 
 Response :
 
  It is important to make the compostconstruction function optimal, so that the need to stay inside the hall, will not be so important. The treatment of garbage from housekeeping, could be better. For example to start separate plastic from the garbage, and make use of homecompost.
