Salary level in VenneslaVennesla is known as a community depending on industry. Vikeland Metal Refinery, Norsk Wallboard, and Hunsfos Fabrics are the biggest companies. Industrial workers are known to have low salaries. Because of that, we believe that the private income of the population (in Vennesla) is lower than the national average. We also believe that men earn more than women do. We estimated the difference to be about 10%.
Despite the fact that the average salary is lower in Vennesla the conditions of life are good. This is caused by their early debut in working life, and therefore they avoid student loan.
We were right about men earning more than women, but 10% was quite wrong. The average salary for men is 101,8% higher than for women. We believe this is not only caused by differences in salary, but also that more women work as unpaid housewives. Those of the women who has got higher education has to work outside Vennesla because there are not any jobs for them here. We can also see that the average salary is 22,3% lower than national average (for women). Highest salary in Vennesla The person with the highest salary in Vennesla is man off only 32 years. His net income was about $ 600 000 in 1998. While the woman with the highest income is the 21.on the list, with a net income on $90 000. Among the 87 persons on the list, only four of them are women! We can clearly see the connection between women earning less then men in average.
