The reason for the commercial leaks

Most young people in Vennesla choose to do their shopping in Kristiansand or they go to "Sørlandssenteret".⁽¹⁾ Halvor Rismyhr thinks it is too bad that the inhabitans of Vennesla choose to do their shopping in other places than Vennesla. He thinks one of the reasons that "venndøler" go to Kr.sand or Sørlandssenteret, is that the selection of goods and shops are greater. At the "Sørlandssenteret", you're not depended on the weather. He also thinks there's too little "action" in Vennesla than at the "Sørlandssenteret".

Another reason for many to do their shopping in Kr.sand is the great proportion of people who work in Kristiansand. ⁽²⁾. He says that many people shop at the places they work, and therefor they shop in Kristiansand.

When the new toll-station between Vennesla and Kristiansand has opened, the commercial leaks might decrease, but that doesn't mean tha the leaks to Sørlandssenteret will decrease. The shopping will maybe just be moved to Sørlandssenteret.

To make "venndøler" shop more in Vennesla, Rismyhr suggest that it should be more shops of same type, so the selection will be greater, a selection most people miss in the shopping-groups which is most involved in commercial leaks.⁽³⁾. But he means that it shouldn't just be many shops of each type, but they should be in wellknown chains. They should also deal with the "marketing". Rismyhr thinks that most people who shop in Kristiansand at saturdays do it to meet people, not shop. Vennesla has to try to be a endvouz for people.
