Energy saving at MX Sport and
Procon Electronics in Vennesla |
| We have chosen
two stores in Vennesla, and we asked them questions about their
energy consumption and energy saving at their stores. We made five
questions that we wanted answers to, and after a quick visit to
these stores, we got the answers we were looking for. The answers to
our questions from both of the stores are following below. After
this, we compare the stores choices to energy saving. |

Do you do anything to save power?
Actually, we haven not got any special efforts, but we have got
some…
What kind of efforts have you got to save energy?
In our store, we have decided not to keep it to warm. Instead, we put on an extra sweatshirt or a thin
jacket. Then we can save some energy, at least. A lot in the long
run, actually. In the evenings, when we leave the store, we turn
off all the lights. |

What do you think can be done better?
Actually, it can not be much better… We do not use that lot of
power, because we haven not got that many instruments. It is just
lights, cash register, warming cables, air conditioning and our time
switcher, which use power. And the time switcher is set on low heat
at nights. Lower than it is during the day. And the warming cables
are switched off during summertime.
Is the energy consumption stable?
Yes, it is. But as I said, it is a little bit higher during winter,
when the warming cables are switched on. The time switcher is also
turned on higher temeprature, then.
Are there many power using instruments in action when the store is
closed?
The time switcher only. The lights the cash register, and the other
power using equipment are turned off at night. The warming cables
too, even though it is winter. So I think we have done what we can
do to keep the power/energy use down. |

Do you do anything to save electrisity power?
We have bought an aggregate with a heating pump. The heating pump
is sending out heat, and at the same time it is producing power.
This is an expensive product, but we save money in the long run. We
are glad we decided to invest in this.
What kind of efforts have you got to save energy?
We turn off all the computers and lights when we leave the store
in the evening. We do not need the warming cables as much as before,
after we invested in the heating pump.
We have got an oven that automaticaly regulates the temperature.

| What do you think can be
done better?
Not much, because there are not many electric articles which are turned on at night.
Is the energy consumption stable?
Actually, we use less energy now, after we invested in the
aggregate. This is very positive, and we are glad the aggregate is
works to reduse the energy.
Are
there many power using instruments in action when the store is
closed?
No. All the power using equipment is off during the evening and
night. |
