Gasoline-Prices

How does the gasoline-prices effect the gas-consumption in Norway?

  • The gas-consumption does not get effected by the fuel-prices. The most car-owners are often depended of their cars, and thatīs why they have to buy fuel, even if that means buying with very high fuel-prices

Why is the fuel-prices so high in Norway?

  • The dollar-rate is sky-high! One dollar is worth over 9 NOK. All oil buys and sells in dollars, and thats why prices are as high as they are.
  • Opec and Norway produce a small amount of oil, which makes demands higher. Therefor prices increase.
  • More and more countries are looking at their fuel as golden source of income, through duty. Specially in Norway.
  • Gas-stations are trying to catch up on their loses after last years price-war, and therefor race their prices. The state takes roughly 70-80% of the profit on gasoline. The gas-stations therfore have to increase their prices in order to make a profit after the goverment have taken their share and expenses have been paid.

  • As one can see the difference between the litre-price of gasoline in Norway and in Russia is NOK.8,76 and the difference on a full tank NOK.524,- One can also see that the gasoline in Norway is pretty much more expensive than in all the other European countries. This ought to be a thought-provocation if you think of the fact that Norway is one of the countries with the largest oilresuorces.
