Strategies and Efforts

There are several efforts which can be done to prevent electromagnetic fields:

  • Replace above ground wires with underground wires.
  • Demolish/move houses lying too close to powerlines.
  • Move existing lines which are lying too close to residential areas.
  • Plan the deployment of the lines so they won't be to close to future residential areas.

Must these efforts concern all voltage levels, or should they only apply to those over a certain voltage?

The effect focused on mostly is bloodcancer among children. It's difficult to prove any link between several diseases and electromagnetic fields.

It is not expected that any of these efforts will have a measurable outcome on the statistics, since bloodcancer is a very rare disease today.

To move powerlines away from residential areas, will mean that they can be moved to areas of domestical or outdoor importance. this can lead to a conflict with domestic interests on one side, and residential and municipal interests on the other side.
