Facts about Kilen.
Kilen is situated in the housing called Graslijordet south of the centre of Vennesla. This pond lies just 10 metres away from a public road. There is also a factory nearby. This has, without any doubts; made it less attractive to people whom went for a swim there before. We have also heard from more uncertain sources that sewer have been released in this pond. But this was for several years ago. This could have induced frequently algae growth and a more nutrient-rich pond. Kilen is covered by forest in almost all directions. A wet bog lies against this pond. And it is realistic that there has been water here before. The water streams in and out of this pond. It flows out in Otra and comes in from a water source up in the woods. We can see the pipe that leads the water out in Kilen on the picture below.
Past several years Kilen have been changed from a great bathing place to a swamp. Or a nutrient-rich pond. We have observed fish in this pond (It was a trout on ½ kg!). We caught a fish in this pond to prove our statement.
