Pollution from Hunsfos 

 The pollution that Hunsfos lets out today is minimal. Hunsfos has made a great effort in reduceing the toxic waste from the factory. The pollution in Otra was heavily reduced when Hunsfos made a pipeline that transported the toxins into the sea, instead of the river. However, the area around Hunsfos is still a bit polluted.

As you can see in this picture there is still some pollution in the areas around Hunsfos.

1. How long have you been an employee at Hunsfos?

I have been employed at Hunsfos since 1971.

2. Was there alot of pollution around the Hunsfos area when you started working there?

It  was pretty much the same as it is now, but the river was polluted.

3. Has there been any great changes since then?

The river is almost like new again. The salmon is back and the river is now beeing used for outdoor activities.

4. What has Hunsfos done improve the situation?

Hunsfos has done many things to reduce the pollution in Otra, they have:

• Built purifiers.

• Closed the watersystem inside the factory, so that they use less clean water in the production of paper.
